About Loose Her Stageplay

Overview

Written by Samia Young and directed by Ronnie Holman, Loose Her is a powerful and deeply moving stage play that tells the story of a young woman navigating the painful realities of abandonment, trauma, love, and faith. From childhood innocence to the complexities of adulthood, Samia’s journey reveals how the wounds of the past can shape our present, yet never have the final word.

Through moments of heartbreak, resilience, and spiritual awakening, Loose Her explores what it truly means to be set free from the pain that once held us captive. This story is a reminder that even in our darkest moments, healing, purpose, and redemption are still possible. This is a true story based on the book, "Samia, Come Forth! Trading Graveclothes for Purpose," by author Samia Young.

Meet the Writer

Samia Young is a woman whose faith transformed her life, taking her from a troubled past riddled with abuse, trauma, and crime to a powerful story of redemption and purpose.

Born and partially raised on the south side of Chicago, and having spent most of her adult life in Minneapolis, Samia's life has been marked by extreme trials, extreme failures, and triumphant victories!

Today, she wears many hats, including attorney, author, street and prison preacher, and minister of the Gospel, sharing the good news with anyone who will listen. Samia is living proof of God's transformative power and that your past does not have to dictate your future.
